Xpad News

Guh, Xpad 2.14 is now available. It fixes a 100% CPU bug found by Fred Galusik. :-/

Xpad 2.13 is now available. It has a long-awaited translation refresh, featuring new Chinese (simplified), English (British), Finnish, and Korean translations. The Dutch and Slovak translations were updated.

Also, some bug fixes related to pads remembering closed state and location after closing. Maybe fix some issues with 'on all desktops' support, though it still doesn't work quite right in Metacity.

This release also uses the status icon support in GTK+ and requires GTK+ 2.12.

Xpad 2.12 is now available. It's just a bug fix release to close a major crasher when loading pads with formatting.

Xpad 2.11 is now available.

  • Added a -f option to open a file as a pad (doesn't work great on large files)
  • Pads now show up on the taskbar if you have window decorations on
  • New Chinese (simplified) translation (Meng Jie)
  • New Danish translation (Morten Bo Johansen)
  • New Swedish translation (Daniel Nylander)
  • Updated Chinese (traditional) translation (Wei-Lun Chao)

Xpad 2.10 is now available. I fixed a possible crash when deleting pads while autohide toolbars are enabled, made toolbar icons smaller, and made the toolbar appear inside a pad when there is enough space instead of resizing the pad. I also added Slovak and Slovenian translations from Andrej Kacian and Matej Urbančič, respectively. Thanks to our Gentoo maintainer Fernando Pereda for providing patches and suggestions for this release.

Xpad 2.9 is now available. It fixes a few errors with saving the size and location of pads as well as a crasher (thanks Sham Chukoury and Federico Schwindt). It also adds a Malay translation from Sharuzzaman Ahmat Raslan.

Xpad 2.8 is now available. It fixes an insanely broken translation bug. Now translations should actually work... :( Also, it adds a Chinese (traditional) translation.

Xpad 2.7 is now available. It fixes a couple bugs with pad sizes and adds Bulgarian and Kinyarwanda translations.

Xpad 2.6 is now available. It fixes one annoying bug that caused pads in some window managers to 'jump' when dragging via the toolbar. Also, updated Hungarian, Irish, and Vietnamese translations.

Xpad 2.5 is now available. It fixes a few bugs: xpad closing when toggling decorations with only one pad open, not showing old pads correctly when upgrading from really old versions, and stop making all new pads start at the top left.

It's been a bad week. Xpad 2.2/2.3 haven't been creating ~/.config if it didn't exist. The newly released 2.4 does this correctly. Yay.

Oops, I goofed. A problem with the compile and linking flags has been fixed, resulting in xpad 2.3.

Xpad 2.2 is out. It bumps the required GTK+ version to 2.6 and features some significant changes:

  • New default location for configuration files: ~/.config/xpad
  • Updated icon (now uses lighter colors)
  • New command-line option: --hide-old (or -H) to not show existing pads
  • Renamed command-line option --nonew to --no-new and added -N shortcut
  • Readded keyboard shortcuts which have been missing for a couple versions
  • Allow running from a console if xpad doesn't actually need a display
  • New Hungarian translation (courtesy of Németh Csaba)
  • New Vietnamese translation (courtesy of Clytie Siddall)

I'm leaving xpad 2.1 up for a while because I realize not everyone has GTK+ 2.6 yet.

Xpad 2.1 is out. It just fixes a couple bugs: the tray icon should now always be the right size and xpad should close when the tray icon isn't open and no pads are open.
